After KGF, many producers of the country offered films

You shot for a long time in 'KGF'. Apart from acting, what departments do you join?

I am involved in every process. I am from theater background. I spent my early days there. He taught me one thing. Actor's job comes last in my mind. Here man from every department can do anything. The mission of the entire team is just to entertain the audience.

I have lived with the director from the beginning. Let me understand the script first. We cannot deliver a good performance without understanding what is on his mind. 'How to say dialogue' I do not think. Instead of that I think why am I speaking this dialogue? My acting process starts from there.

How did you get into the character?

My method is simple. I connect with the director even before the shoot starts. Like him, I am also worried that how to make the scene better? Working as a team, what kind of emotions do we want in a particular scene? When I come to know about all that, only then does that matter in performance.

How many Hindi movies were offered after KGF?

No. That did not happen. Most of the producers were coming with an open heart and mind. I will not say that so many people had come to me. Not only Hindi, but offers came from all parts of India.

So when should we expect your pure Bollywood debut?

I don't believe in Bollywood, Tollywood. Also, if the director of Hindi wants to say our story or emotion, then it will be Indian cinema, not Hindi or Kannada. That is because the same pattern has to be followed in every language. Still, if we can cater to a particular language, why go anywhere else? Instead of that we will make a cinema, bring it in every possible language.

Apart from acting, what other things contribute to the film?

A lot of work has been done on the music of the film. My music director approached a lot of international sound creators for small sound effects. Hollywood budgets have been used on this front. Ravi Basrur had set-up his studio in Basrur, a small village in Karnataka. We all worked in that small village. He took our performance to the next level with his music.

The new guy on the second part of the film is Ujjwal. He was standing near the theater at the time of celebration in Chapter 1. I was also shocked to see his photo. He is the editor of our film.
